Tornado Preparedness

Tornadoes can strike with little or no warning, so it’s crucial to be prepared.

Ensure you have a plan in place for your family.

Identify safe shelter locations, such as basements or small interior rooms on the lowest floor, away from windows.

Keep an keep your personal 'Evac Pack' and family emergency kit ready and in the area you would go to be safe. If you stay home (shelter in place), you will be able to access it and if you have to leave home, (evacuate), it is where you can pick it up and take it with you.   Click here to view the emergency preparedness page and recommended kit lists.

Stay informed about weather conditions through local news, weather apps, or a NOAA weather radio.

Practice your tornado safety plan regularly and make sure everyone knows what to do when a tornado warning is issued.

Remember, taking these steps can help protect you and your family during a tornado.
